The full form of FSSAI is Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Basically, FSSAI Registration is a 14 digit registration number that is used by the food-related business & printed on the food products with license number. FSSAI is the governing and regulatory body for ensuring the safety of food products delivered to the consumers.

 

Who Required FSSAI Registration :

This License is governed by The Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006. Registration or license can be taken for 1 to 5 years at your choice. Govt. Fees applicable on yearly basis. Apply for Renewal within 30 days before expiry. The FSSAI Registration was divided into 3 categories relying on criteria of business turnover. The government of India is accountable for setting up standards for selling, packaging or storage of food items in India.

Every Food Business Owners such as traders, restaurants, manufacturers, small eateries, importers, exporters, home-based food businesses, grocery shop, dairy farms, processors, retailers, e-tailors to register their business under the guidelines of the regulatory body.

 

FSSAI Registration is required the documents depend on the type of the legal entity and type of the Food License or FSSAI Registration :

  1. Declaration form
  2. Authority letter
  3. Copy of Property paper (If owned property)
  4. Copy of Rent agreement (If rented property)
  5. Food Safety Management System plan or certificate
  6. Electricity/ Water bill (Business Place)
  7. Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card of Proprietor/ Partners/ Director
  8. Form IX: Nomination of Persons by a Company along with the Board Resolution

 

Note : Any other documents which may be a demand by authority on the basis of the requirement of the business.
